Why it works

  • Near-invisible clear panels adhere to couch arms and corners — guests won't notice them, your cat will ignore them
  • Includes twist-pin fasteners for a secure hold on fabric sofas that won't release from batting
  • No training required — cats simply redirect to their scratching post once the surface is covered
  • Reusable and repositionable; remove without leaving adhesive residue on most upholstery
  • 10-pack covers a full sectional with extras; 6-pack is right for a standard 3-seat sofa

The full story

Cats scratch furniture for two reasons: to condition their claws and to mark territory by leaving visual and scent cues. You can't train them out of it entirely — but you can make the specific surfaces they've targeted unappealing while keeping a scratch post available. That's exactly what these guards do.

The clear PVC panels conform to the shape of couch arms and corners and adhere with a combination of suction and the included twist-pin fasteners. The fasteners are the key: they anchor the guard through the fabric weave so it doesn't shift or pull off when your cat bats at it. On leather or vinyl sofas, the suction alone is usually sufficient.

Installation takes about 3 minutes per panel. Position over the area your cat has targeted, press the panel flush, insert the fasteners through the top and bottom edges, and you're done. Cats typically stop scratching treated areas within a few days because the surface no longer gives them the feedback they're looking for.

Removal is clean on most upholstery — the twist pins leave small holes that are invisible in fabric. Not recommended on delicate silks or heirloom upholstery. If you're unsure about your fabric, test one corner first. The 6-pack covers a standard sofa; the 10-pack covers a sectional or L-shape with extras for chair arms.
